Amy Baxter MD is an Associate Clinical Professor at Augusta University, and CEO of Pain Care Labs, founded in 2006 to eliminate unnecessary pain. After Yale and Emory Medical School, she founded the Pediatric Emergency Research program at Scottish Rite, CHOA. Federally funded for neuromodulatory mechanical oscillation research on pain relief, she publishes and lectures nationally and internationally on pain management, procedural sedation, and opioid alternatives for low back pain. Inventions include VibraCool® Vibrational Cryotherapy, DistrACTION cards, DuoTherm, and her Buzzy® device, blocking pain for over 114 million needle procedures. Other contributions include a hepatic enzyme algorithm timing child abuse, the validated BARF nausea scale, the primary needle phobia cause, 12 neuromodulation pain blocking frequency patents, and low back pain reduction. Speaking venues include Exponential Medicine, Bloomberg, Converge, TEDMED, and a TED talk on how to hack pain with over 1 million views.
