I have held a faculty position at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center for the past 14 years, serving as Director of Radiology Anesthesia and Sedation for 7 years. This section delivers over 4000 -5000 anesthetic or sedation cases each year and consists of 12 faculty, 10 CRNA, and 34 sedation nurses. I have also developed, led and managed a broad range of initiatives to improve quality outcomes in anesthesia for imaging studies, resulting in significant improvement in on time start and medication error reduction.. I also lead the division of anesthesia I am the Anesthesia from 2017-2018 at Cincinnati Children Hospital Medical Center. In both leadership positions I lead departmental initiatives as well as leading consensus building initiatives in a diverse and rapidly expanding . An important topic of my research is examining the effects of anesthetic agents including Propofol, dexmedetomidine and ketamine on the upper airway morphology in children with and without history of obstructive sleep apnea.I have written many high impact research articles as primary and senior author on dexmedtomidine sedation. Subsequently, based on our outcomes and publications, other sedation programs have adopted our sedation protocols for upper airway dynamic evaluation with dexmedetmindine. I have published research articles and book chapters as primary and senior author in the leading journals of anesthesia, radiology and Otolaryngology (77 articles and 15 book chapters).
